Go Budget Travel is a travel blog built around the idea of traveling smarter and finding experiences that are truly worth the cost. In English, “budget travel” usually refers to traveling on a limited budget. But this blog is not simply about traveling as cheaply as possible. What matters to me is finding travel experiences that are worth what you spend. A trip can be worthwhile even if it costs a little more when it gives you the experience you were looking for. On the other hand, even the cheapest trip is not a good one if all it leaves you with is an unpleasant experience.

You might find this hard to believe, but I’m an extremely introverted person who used to have almost nothing to do with travel. But after I started taking my first real trips in 2024, I began to realize that travel could be more than simply going somewhere for fun. New experiences could awaken something within us that we did not even know was there. This blog is my first attempt to share information and experiences that can help more people discover that kind of meaningful travel. If traveling gives you time to have a conversation with yourself rather than with anyone else, and if this blog contributes even a little to that experience, I could not ask for more.

As I am Korean and also have a full-time job, the time I can devote to traveling is limited. For that reason, most of the content on this blog focuses on East Asia, particularly South Korea and Japan. For English- and Chinese-speaking travelers looking for information about Korea, I hope to provide practical and genuinely useful insights that can be difficult to find elsewhere!

I personally write all original articles in Korean. AI is used only in parts of the process, such as reviewing and proofreading. However, one of the goals of this blog is to help people around the world enjoy better travel experiences, especially when visiting Korea. For that reason, AI is used more actively when translating the blog into English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese. Without this remarkable technology of the 21st century, I probably would never have had the chance to meet many of you. 🙂
