Flâneur [flɑnœʁ]: literary type from 19th century France, the man of leisure, the idler, the urban explorer, the connoisseur of the street. However, the flâneur concept is not limited to someone committing the physical act of a peripatetic stroll, but can also include a “complete philosophical way of living and thinking”, and a process of navigating erudition.
The Flâneur of the 21st century shows similar traits as the classical one, however he expands his horizon well beyond the borders of cities. He admires bustling metropolitan areas as much as he loves the deserted, pristine nature. Every single experience has a profound impact on his understanding of himself and the world surrounding him.
This is kind of my story, or at least a few randomly chosen sneak peaks and snapshots of it.
